How It All Started

Birdfy grew out of a simple, joyful discovery.

Back in our Netvue days, people kept sharing bird clips caught on their security cams. Almost overnight, #CaughtOnNetvue turned into a surprise birdwatching club.

We realized: if a regular camera can spark this much wonder, imagine one made just for birds.

So in 2020, we built Birdfy to bring that joy to everyone. We combined Netvue’s decade of camera experience with new AI tech to make birdwatching easy and fun.

Our first product, the Birdfy Feeder, became a window into nature—identifying birds, sending alerts, and bringing their tiny stories closer.

Since then, we've expanded into a full lineup of feeders, baths, and nesting products. We’ll keep building tools that make wildlife discovery simple for all ages and abilities.

2010 The Foundation: Netvue Is Born

Netvue set out to make advanced camera and software technology more approachable for everyday homes. This foundation in imaging and AI later became the heart of Birdfy’s innovation.

2020 The Vision Takes Flight

Inspired by users capturing birds on Netvue cameras, we combined our cutting-edge AI with bird-friendly hardware design. We set out to create the world’s first AI-powered smart bird feeder camera, bringing backyard wildlife closer than ever.

2021 Launching the World’s First Market-Ready Smart Feeder

In November 2021, the Birdfy Feeder officially launched, marking a milestone in birdwatching history. While the concept of smart birding was emerging, Birdfy was the first to turn it into reality. We successfully brought the world's first consumer-ready smart feeder to the global market, rapidly expanding availability via our official website and Amazon.

2022 The Industry Leader Takes Center Stage

As the first available and leading pioneer in the smart bird feeder industry, Birdfy quickly gained popularity. Forbes listed Birdfy as one of the “Best Tech Gifts” and Digital Camera World named us the “Best Bird Feeder Camera.” The year closed with Birdfy becoming a Walmart Marketplace bestseller.

2023 Expanding the Ecosystem

We introduced Birdfy Nest Duo, Birdfy Feeder Bamboo, and the world’s first dual-camera hummingbird feeder — all while earning coverage from TechRadar, USA Today Reviewed, and the Daily Mirror.

2024 Global Recognition & Retail Expansion

This year marked a massive leap in scale. We launched the advanced Feeder 2 series, secured global honors including the MUSE Gold Award and CES Innovation Awards, and introduced web viewing and slow-motion capture. Crucially, Birdfy expanded into major brick-and-mortar retailers:
